By now, it should be painfully obvious to John Galliano that the world believes that he is a bigot. Not only did the fashion world initially rush to his defense, it also offered up a number of excuses for his increasingly bizarre behavior. However, when video footage was released showing Galliano embarking on an abusive and dangerous verbal tirade, the darling of the fashion world quickly found himself ousted.
Now that John Galliano has been fired and sacked from his own label, he is currently in Paris awaiting his fate in court. The disgraced fashion designer was charged with a hate crime for his now infamous verbal assault. Its clear to anyone that has eyes that Galliano is on the video, and that he is saying things that are more than just mean. What could possibly make this story any stranger? The fact that John Galliano now says that he can’t remember uttering hateful remarks towards an interracial couple.
That defense might go over well if there wasn’t video of the crime – video that was released within 24 hours of the scandal breaking. Even if Galliano can’t remember saying those remarks, he certainly has had plenty of time to jog his memory. In fact, he utterly denied saying anything of the sort when he was first charged, and he went as far as to accuse the victims of being the aggressors. Thankfully, things really can’t get that much worse for John Galliano as he has already lost his fashion empire.
